Warranty and FAQs

Tabulae Eyewear products come with a 90-day warranty from the purchase date, which covers any manufacturer defects. All of our products meet the highest quality standard and are thoroughly inspected prior to shipment. Unfortunately, this warranty does not cover non-manufacturer (i.e. wear and tear, breakage etc.) apply. For warranty eligibility, Tabulae Eyewear reserves the right to determine manufacturing defects and requires proof of purchase to assess eligibility.

 

Exchanges:

Items can be replaced within 14 days of your order. A one time only exchange policy is available for any dissatisfied items or manufacturer defects. If an exchange in necessary, you must provide the original purchase receipt along with a note, which includes the name and color of the new item.

 

Refunds:

Once your return is received, it will then be inspected. Then, you will receive a notification of your approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, your refund will be credited through your original method of payment. There's is $15 restocking fee on all returns. It will take approximately 24-48 hours for the refund to show up on your account.

If you need to return or exchange an item, please mail to address below and include the following information with your return/exchange:

When sending back any item please make sure to package in a box that will protect it from any damages. You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning or exchanging your item. Shipping time may vary depending on where you live. We suggest when sending an item to please consider using a trackable shipping service such as USPS, UPS or Fed Ex or purchasing shipping insurance. Tabulae Eyewear is not responsible for items being damaged or lost during shipment for returns or exchanges.

 

Do you have a storefront where I can get a pair?

Currently, we do not have a storefront. However, we are in an indoor pop-up shop within Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (70 N7th Brooklyn Williamsburg, NY 11249). We are there every Saturday and Sunday. Other markets in NYC and other states are pending. Please check our website or social media to see locations and any other additional updates.

Can we purchase at your main headquarters?

Unfortunately, we do not have a store at our headquarters to make purchases. Please check our online store or one of our indoor pop-up shop locations.

If I purchase a pair at your pop-up within Artists and Fleas, can I exchange/return?

Yes you can. All purchases must be returned/exchanged in the same exact condition as it was sold in order to qualify.

What if my frame broke or the lenses gets damaged?

There's a one time charge of $40 for either a broken frame or any damage lenses.

If I purchase online, can I return at any of the pop-up shops?

You can depending on the pop-up location. Our main shop is within Artists and Fleas in Williamsburg Brooklyn (70 N7th street). Most purchases can be returned at that location in person, otherwise please mail to 103-34 97th street, ozone park, NY 11417. Receipt of purchase is required. The sunglasses and any accessories must be in the same condition during sale to qualify for a return.

What type of payment methods do you accept?

We accept many payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and PayPal for online orders.

Are custom frame orders available?

Sorry, unfortunately not. Due to the process of making a pair of sunglasses, it requires certain sizing, colors and lens options. Selection of what is available is on our online shop.

What type of material are your sunglasses made of?

Our sunglasses are made of cellulose acetate; a light, durable and adjustable plastic that is stronger than wood and more comfortable on the face.

Are your sunglasses real wood?

No. Our sunglasses are made of cellulose acetate with wood-like appearance and texture.

What is the difference between your frame versus a wooden frame?

Our frames are lighter, easily adjustable and much more comfortable on your face. Wooden frames can not be adjusted, are not as light and are easily damaged by the elements (i.e. rain, moisture). 

What color lenses do you offer for your frames?

We offer grey and brown polarized lenses. We also have a variety of polarized mirror lenses. View our online shop for more details.

Are your sunglasses adjustable? If yes, how can I adjust it?

Yes, our sunglasses are very easily adjusted. You can take any of our frames to your local optical clinic or shop for adjustments. 

Can prescription lenses go into your frames?

Yes! All our frames are made from acetate plastic making prescription lenses option. Contact your local optical shop for more details regarding specific prescriptions, lens types and lens insertion. 

 

Do you offer prescription lenses with your frames?

Unfortunately not. However, you can take the frame to a local optical shop to have prescription lenses inserted.

 

Do you sell polarized lenses to exiting Tabulae Eyewear sunglasses?

Yes we do! A pair of polarized lenses costs between $45 to $50. You will need to provide us with the name/style of your existing pair, so we can send you the appropriate shape and color. After you receive the lenses, you can take both the frame and lenses to your local optical shop for proper insertion.

 

What are your lenses made from and does it have polarized and UV protection?

Our lenses are made from plastic (CR-39). We carry lenses that are both polarized with backside anti-glare protection and 100% UVA and UVB treatment.

 

What are polarized lenses?

Polarized lenses reduce glare and increase contrast sensitivity. Glare can distort an objects true color and makes it more difficulty to distinguish. Polarized lenses reduce glare and reflection from many surfaces such as water, snow, glass as well as some surfaces on the road.

 

Why should I buy a pair of polarized lenses?

Polarized lenses are an overall better option for the eyes. It provides improved clarity, protection and reduces reflections. It is a good idea to have a pair of polarized sunglasses on hand for activities such as driving, skiing, golfing, jogging, biking or while on a boat, at the beach or during any daily outdoor activities.

 

How do I clean and take care of my sunglasses?

Maintaining Glasses as Easy as 1,2,3:

Whenever you sunglasses are not on your face, please make sure to keep them in its case at all times. This will prevent or reduce scratches, frame distortions (i.e.bending out of position). To clean the lenses, you can use lukewarm water with mild soap. However, the preferred method is to use our eyewear spray and cleaning cloth that comes with every purchase, which reduces streaks, scratches and removes dust.  Remember the lenses are scratch resistant NOT scratch proof.

 

Can your sunglasses get wet?

Yes! Sunglasses can get wet,  but do not soak or submerge them in water for long periods of time. 

 

What shipping methods do you use?

We mainly ship via USPS (FREE). We also occasionally use Fed Ex and UPS (depending on the urgency). All shipping methods are fast, reliable and safe. 

 

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Orders take 5-7 business days with USPS standard shipping.

 

Do you ship internationally?

As of now, we ship in some countries.

 

Do you offer expedited shipping?

We only offer national two-day and next business day air shipping (prices will vary). 

 

Do you offer any FREE shipping?

Only USPS Standard Shipping (5-7 business days) is FREE.

 

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we offer a full 90 day warranty against any manufacturer defects. 

 

What should I do if I want to return or exchange my sunglasses?

We offer a 30 day return or exchange policy on unused sunglasses from the original purchase date. All return sunglasses have a $15 dollar restocking fee. Please include the following when sending back any products:

1) Send us an email that you are sending back eyewear.

2) A copy of your original order receipt.

3) All original materials and packaging. 

4) Your choice of return or exchange.

5) A note with the reason for your return or exchange.

6) Send all returns and exchanges to the following address:

Eyeglass maintenance: Whenever your glasses are not on your face, please make sure to keep them in a case. 

Whenever your glasses are not on your face, please make sure to keep them in a case at all times. This will avoid scratches and possible damage to the frame. To clean your lenses, use either eyeglass cleaners that can be purchased at your local pharmacy or warm water with mild soap. Wipe the lenses using the cloth that is provided. DO NOT clean the lenses with clothing or paper towels, as this may result in scratches. Remember, the lenses are scratch resistant not scratch proof.
